Worship

This stained glass window is in our choir loft
There are a number of opportunities to serve at worship both in a leadership role and in a supporting role. Lutheran worship has always included lay leadership and that’s an important part of worship at Good Shepherd.
Music
Our adult choir, kid’s choir and tone chimes add weekly to our worship. We also have a lay cantor that sings parts of our liturgy. There is also the opportunity to sing or play solos. Just talk to Tricia Foltz, our organist and choir director.
Readings
Each week a member of the congregation reads from bible as part of our worship. Our lectors are both young and old. Look for a sign-up sheet on the table outside the sanctuary, and take a copy of the lessons for the Sunday you sign up for.
Communion
Members help Pastor Smith serve communion during the service. This important service mirrors the hospitality of serving a meal to family. If you would like to help serve communion, please speak to Pastor Smith.
Altar Guild
Preparing the sanctuary for worship each week is one of those behind the scenes jobs that when done well never gets noticed. A small group of dedicated members care for this part of our ministry.
Acolytes
Youth serve as acolytes at all our services. There is a brief training, but any child who wants to can serve, just talk to Pastor Smith.
